Regardless of the project, Goy Architects still offers holistic design solutions to their clients, from architecture to interior design and furnishings. It’s important to keep their clients informed visually during the design process in order to get feedback. The architects would be able to sync or completely realise the client’s design goals and specifications in this manner.

This five-room flat was inspired by Shizukokoro, which means “calm mind” in Japanese. The designers have curated the flat’s journey with pockets of vistas and spatial delights, evoking traditional ryokans. This entailed either obscuring or framing interior spaces. The designer wanted to make the owners and guests feel at ease, even if they were drinking tea on the floor.

The tropical kampong house served as inspiration for this project, with the intention of building a home with an easygoing spirit, with numerous pockets of spaces to relax, play, and converse. Via the use of skylights and air wells, the designers have blurred the lines between exterior and interior spaces. The client was fascinated by the possibility of upcycling products and has a passion for the environment.

 Shizukokoro,

Since 2016, Goy Architects has partnered with Archicad. Goy Zhenru discusses why she chose Archicad as her primary design tool: “I required software that would allow me to function more efficiently and effectively. It must also be compact, as I travel regularly and use my laptop to access projects. When I first started out as a one-person operation, the conventional workflow was difficult for me.“

She believes Archicad has had a strategic impact on their practise because it allows them to efficiently manage their projects and they enjoy using the software.

The GRAPHISOFT BIMCloud solution enables Goy Architects to collaborate and work simultaneously within their team. The updated model is then presented in BIMx format, allowing their clients to fully immerse themselves in the final design space while providing constructive feedback.
